Refund & Return Policy

Thank you for shopping with Nightshade Kink Works.
We want you to love what you ordered, but we also need to protect the handmade nature of our products, the hygiene and safety of our customers, and the time that goes into custom work.
This policy explains when returns, refunds, exchanges, store credits, and defective item claims may be accepted.
Nothing in this policy is intended to limit any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
30-Day Return Window
We offer a 30-day return window on eligible items.
This means you have 30 days after receiving your order to contact us and request a return.

Items sent back without first contacting us and receiving return instructions will not be accepted.
Return Eligibility
To be eligible for a return, the item must be:
- In the same condition you received it
- Unused
- Unworn
- Clean
- Free from signs of handling beyond basic inspection
- With tags, if applicable
- In its original packaging, where applicable
- Accompanied by proof of purchase
Because many of our products are handmade, intimate, custom, or intended for adult use, all returned items are subject to inspection once received.
A return request being accepted does not automatically mean a refund will be approved. Final approval happens after the item has been received and inspected by Nightshade Kink Works.
Return Shipping
Return shipping is paid by the customer for all returns that are not due to a confirmed defect or an error made by Nightshade Kink Works.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to a confirmed defect, wrong item, or another issue caused by Nightshade Kink Works.
We recommend using a tracked shipping method for returns. Nightshade Kink Works is not responsible for return packages that are lost, delayed, damaged, or misdelivered in transit.
Restocking Fee
A restocking fee of up to 15% may apply to some approved returns at our discretion.
This fee helps cover costs associated with processing returns, inspecting items, repackaging products, replacing shipping materials, payment processing costs, and the loss of resale value for certain items.
The restocking fee applies only to eligible, non-defective returns.
A restocking fee will not apply where an item is confirmed to be defective, damaged, incorrect, or materially different from what was ordered due to an error by Nightshade Kink Works, unless otherwise permitted by law.
If a restocking fee applies, it will be deducted from the refund or store credit issued after the returned item has been received and inspected.
Custom and Made-to-Order Items
Custom, personalized, modified, commissioned, and made-to-order items are final sale and cannot be returned, exchanged, or cancelled once work has begun.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Custom sizing
- Custom colours
- Custom materials
- Personalized wording
- Modified designs
- Special orders
- Made-to-order products
- Items created specifically for you
Custom orders may only be eligible for a remedy if they arrive defective, damaged, or materially different from what was agreed upon.
All custom order concerns are subject to inspection and review by Nightshade Kink Works.
Non-Returnable Items
For safety, hygiene, and product integrity reasons, certain items cannot be returned unless they arrive defective or damaged.
Non-returnable items may include:
- Custom or personalized items
- Made-to-order items
- Used or worn items
- Items showing signs of use, wear, cleaning, damage, odour, alteration, or handling beyond basic inspection
- Personal care items
- Gift cards
- Sale, clearance, discontinued, or final sale items
- Items removed from sealed packaging, where applicable
- Items that cannot be safely or hygienically resold

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives.
If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, contact us as soon as possible at:

- Photos of the packaging, if the package arrived damaged
- Any other details that may help us review the issue
We will evaluate the concern and work with you on an appropriate resolution.
Depending on the situation, this may include:
- Replacement
- Repair
- Store credit
- Refund
- Partial refund
- Replacement parts
- Return for inspection
- Another reasonable solution at our discretion
Defective item claims may require the item to be returned to us for inspection before a refund, replacement, or credit is approved.
If an item is deemed defective but is not returned to us when requested, Nightshade Kink Works reserves the right to issue store credit instead of a refund or replacement, unless otherwise required by law.
Inspection of Returned Items
All returned items are inspected once received.
We reserve the right to deny a return, refund, exchange, or credit if the item:
- Has been used
- Has been worn
- Is dirty or damaged
- Has odours or residue
- Is missing parts, tags, packaging, or accessories
- Has been altered, modified, cleaned, repaired, or tampered with
- Is not in the same condition it was received
- Is not the item originally sent
- Does not meet the return requirements in this policy
If a return is denied after inspection, we may offer to ship the item back to you at your expense.
Exchanges
The fastest way to exchange an eligible item is to request a return and place a new order once your return has been approved.
Exchanges are not guaranteed and may depend on product availability.
Custom, personalized, made-to-order, clearance, final sale, or used items are not eligible for exchange unless they arrive defective, damaged, or materially different from what was agreed upon.
Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you whether your refund has been approved.
If approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method unless otherwise agreed or required.
Any applicable restocking fee, return shipping cost, or non-refundable original shipping charge may be deducted from the refund.
Please allow up to 10 business days after approval for the refund to be processed. Your bank, credit card company, or payment provider may take additional time to post the refund.

Store Credit
In some cases, Nightshade Kink Works may offer store credit instead of a refund.
Store credit may be offered for:
- Certain approved returns
- Defective item resolutions where the item is not returned for inspection
- Partial resolutions
- Customer service accommodations
- Situations where a refund is not required but we choose to offer a goodwill solution
Where applicable, a restocking fee of up to 15% may be deducted from store credit issued for an approved non-defective return.
Store credit has no cash value and cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash unless required by law.
Sale Items and Gift Cards
Sale, clearance, discontinued, promotional, and final sale items cannot be returned or refunded unless they arrive defective, damaged, or incorrect.
Gift cards are non-refundable.
Order Cancellations
Orders may not be able to be cancelled once they have been placed.
Custom, personalized, modified, commissioned, or made-to-order items cannot be cancelled once work has begun.
